“El Radio” is a love letter to the country in which I was born.
This original One Person Show serves as an exploration of the history and difficulties experienced during the Cuban revolution and its subsequent dictatorship.
A Brief Synopsis
Felix, a concert pianist has been submitted to house arrest by the Cuban communist regime without him knowing why.
Alone, in a room without a piano, the young musician spends his time drinking and imagining himself conducting the greatest orchestras of the island. After three hundred days of his sentence, a mysterious package arrives at his doorstep promising to liberate him of his cell.

This piece focuses on the life of a Cuban pianist. I took incredible inspiration from the music from the Cuban classical composers of the time, as well as the pianists that influenced them. The pieces i play on the piano, and the music in this one person show are completely original and based on my experience and research.
